Here are the sparks that turned into Crippled Black Phoenix songs, or on film soundtracks. The first part of two, this album includes the early half of my writing for CBP and various other music projects since 2004.

There are no Pro-Tools songs, no fancy recording software. Only instruments, a mini-disc, a mic, a home stereo, a Boss BR600 and a bunch of ideas and determination.

This album is for die-hard fans only!! You won't dig it if you're looking for new CBP songs... Although there's a couple of unheard tracks included on this album.

*** The next volume will include demos for everything post-2011 up until BRONZE.. look out for that soon ***

I really like the idea of constantly adding to this album on BC as and when interesting material becomes available...what a good strategy: the continuously evolving album! No throwaway either...there's some great stuff on here: slower pieces and some thoughtful intensity. John Cratchley
